Workplace Services was established in November 1985 to provide quality training to apprentices and to ensure a pool of quality trained apprentices for industry into the future. Since then Workplace Services has had a proud history of training both apprentices and trainees in a wide variety of trades and occupations.
Presently we employ apprentices and trainees in the furnishing, cabinetymaking, metals, building and construction industries, process manufacturing, sign writing, graphic arts, and horticulture and business management.
Workplace Services is a “not for profit company” which receives funding from both the Federal Government and the State Government. Employers employing apprentices through Workplace Services may also be eligible for assistance through the Building Construction and Industry Training Fund for employing apprentices in some trades.
Our organisation is overseen by a Committee of Management which is made up of professional people from a variety of walks of life who give their time without payment for the good of industry and the training of our youth.
At Workplace Services we value our trainees and apprentices and consider them a part of our team. Our Client services Manager works closely with all of our apprentices and trainees to ensure that they are getting a good grounding in their trade and that they are perfrming to our Hosts expectations.
We understand the pressures and difficulties experienced by businesses, particularly small business and empathise with the issues confronted by young people entering the workforce for the first time. We are developing links with a number of high schools that have a focus on trade training and with a number of public and private registered training organisations.
