Pre-apprenticeship Description

If you know your future lies in the plumbing industry and you just can’t wait to get started on your career, this school-based Certificate is the perfect study option for you. On this pathway program, you’ll learn the fundamentals of plumbing, mechanical services, sheet metal fabrication practices, water supply and roof cladding. Designed as a pre-apprenticeship study option, this course will get you ‘job-ready’ for a career in plumbing. This is a preparatory course suitable for those seeking to gain an apprenticeship in the Plumbing sector. The course will prepare and train students in entry-level skills of the Plumbing trade, in preparation for a full-time apprenticeship.

Eligibility Requirements

Students should contact their School Careers Officer. To enrol students should be 15 years of age at the commencement of the course. Admission may be on the basis of maturity and other relevant work experience. This program is available to students commencing Year 10 or 11.
