Pre-Apprenticeships

Certificate II in Plumbing (Pre-apprenticeship)

Pre-apprenticeship Description

The Certificate II in Plumbing (Pre-apprenticeship) could be a vital first step to working as a plumber, either in industry or perhaps running your own business. This is a comprehensive course based on hands-on experiences involving both theory and practical skills. It aims to help you to develop a basic insight into working within a licensed trade area and the associated responsibilities, equipping students with the skills and knowledge an employer looks for when hiring an apprentice. At Swinburne, you’re able to gain confidence by familiarising yourself with equipment, materials, practices and expectations, preparing you for the workforce or allowing you to improve on existing skills. Government funding support is available for this course. Your completed pre-apprenticeship will also provide credit towards your formal studies if you go on to an apprenticeship.

Eligibility Requirements

Entry into this program is based on an applicant’s study and/or relevant work history. Some additional criteria may also apply. Applicants without formal qualifications but with significant relevant work experience are welcome to apply.
