Pre-apprenticeship Description

Polish your apprenticeship to gleaming with the Certificate II in Furniture Making and make your own furniture, start a picture framing business or build your career in the furniture manufacturing trade. There are many opportunities for qualified tradespeople in the furniture making industry with possible career paths, such as fine furniture/cabinet maker; picture framer; wood machinist; kitchen manufacturer and fitter. On successful completion of the Certificate II, you can enrol in Melbourne Polytechnic's Certificate III in Cabinet Making.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be at least 16 years old and are required to attend an interview with the department prior to enrolment. If applicant is under 18 years old, they must have a completed release form from their school.
