Certificate II in Engineering - Locksmithing

Pre-apprenticeship Description

This program comprises the Locksmithing stream of the Certificate II in Engineering. Prepares students for work in the locksmithing industry. Students who continue on to apprenticeship studies after completing the Certificate II will have the relevant units credited to their apprenticeship. Areas of study include: quality procedures and systems, manufacturing and engineering environments, computing technology, hand tools and power tools, key production, welding, thermal cutting and technical drawing. Graduates can secure employment in a variety of industries including security, electronic access and automotive. Career opportunities include an apprenticeship or traineeship in the metals and engineering industry.

Eligibility Requirements

Students must have completed Year 10. There is provision for mature age students who do not meet this educational prerequisite. Students who continue on to apprenticeship studies after completing the Certificate II will have the relevant units credited to their apprenticeship.
