Pre-apprenticeship Description

Get started in your career as a locksmith with this entry-level course. Learn the basic skills you need to increase your employability as a locksmithing apprentice. Locksmithing, or security technology, is a specialised trade with steady demand for workers. Increased use of technology in this area means employers are looking for workers who are up-to-date with current methods, tools and equipment. In this course you will learn how to produce keys, install locks, and assemble and test lock mechanisms. You will also develop skills in workplace health and safety, planning and undertaking workplace tasks and activities, and workplace communication. Our industry-expert teachers integrate these skills throughout your course to make your learning as real-world as possible. Successful completion of this course will give you the confidence to seek a locksmithing apprenticeship or look for employment as a trade assistant.
