Pre-apprenticeship Description

If you like making great things from small sparks, Melbourne Polytechnic’s Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-Vocational) can help. The framework provides a pathway for students to gain employment within the electrical industry as an apprentice leading to a qualification in the Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants/students should have completed Year 11. Studies in maths and science preferred. Completing this course will increase your chances of being selected as an electrical apprentice. This program prepares graduates to apply for an electrical apprenticeship and allows students to gain experience in the electrotechnology industry. Credit Transfers consist of ETE005 Fix & secure, ETE003 Solve problems in low voltage circuits, ETE002 Fabricate, assemble & dissassemble electrical apparatus, ETE004 Solve problems in DC Circuits, ETE007 Use drawings & diagrams. Equates to 180 hour reduction in attendance time for Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician).
