Certificate II in Building & Construction, (Carpentry Pre-apprenticeship)

Pre-apprenticeship Description

Are you looking to enter the construction industry, or get a taste for the carpentry trade before undertaking an apprenticeship? This pre-apprenticeship course is designed to give you the core skills and knowledge for the industry, and increase your opportunities to gain an apprenticeship. What will I learn? This hands-on course is delivered in two parts: 1) Part one covers the generic core units and fundamental skills that apply to Certificate II in Building and Construction. 2) Part two covers the specific training for the industry you wish to enter – in this case - carpentry. Other pre-apprenticeship trades offered include bricklaying and painting and decorating.

Eligibility Requirements

Entrance Requirements / Pre-requisites . Applicants must be aged 16 or over . Applicants are expected to have language, literacy, numeracy and communication skills to at least Year 10 level. Selection mode . Applicants will be selected based on their application. A literacy and numeracy evaluation will take place in week one of the course.
