The Certificate II in Building and Construction (Wall and Floor Tiling) is offered as a pre-apprenticeship to local students through the Building Structures and Services Department. You will get the skills you need to work as a wall and floor tiler. Tilers lay tiles on internal and external walls and floors to provide finishes that are protective or decorative, or both. You will learn skills including: use of plant and power tools; preparing surfaces and laying tiles.
This course includes 1-2 weeks work experience, included in the duration of the course.
Minimum age requirement is 16 years of age. If the student is under 18 years of age, they must have a completed release form from their school. Please contact Melbourne Polytechnic for course commencement dates and enrolment information. Students will receive a reduction in training when they return as apprentices.
