Pre-apprenticeship Description

The Certificate II in Building and Construction (Wall and Floor Tiling) is offered as a pre-apprenticeship to local students through the Building Structures and Services Department. You will get the skills you need to work as a wall and floor tiler. Tilers lay tiles on internal and external walls and floors to provide finishes that are protective or decorative, or both. You will learn skills including: use of plant and power tools; preparing surfaces and laying tiles. This course includes 1-2 weeks work experience, included in the duration of the course.

Eligibility Requirements

Minimum age requirement is 16 years of age. If the student is under 18 years of age, they must have a completed release form from their school. Please contact Melbourne Polytechnic for course commencement dates and enrolment information. Students will receive a reduction in training when they return as apprentices.
