Pre-apprenticeship Description

Do you learn through "hands-on" training and would like to gain industry skills to help you pursue a career in the Construction Industry, including Carpentry, Painting & Decorating, Bricklaying & Paving. You will learn: how to work effectively and sustainably how to communicate in industry to read and interpret drawings/plans to carry out measurements and calculations to use tools and equipment to gain knowledge and basic skills

Eligibility Requirements

Units you will be studying will be outlined before you start this course. We will discuss these in our information sessions for pre-apprenticeships. You will need to be able to write legibly. students are expected to: • Read and interpret Occupational Health and Safety guidelines (e.g. Safe use of equipment and chemicals) • Deal with basic math (e.g. add, subtract & multiply) • Read and understand material (e.g. instructions for use, plans etc.) Support is available to help students who may have difficulty meeting the above requirements. Some of these skills may be improved through the learning processes.
