Certificate II in Building and Construction (Carpentry)

Pre-apprenticeship Description

This qualification is part of the Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package. It provides an occupational outcome and a range of support tasks applicable to a majority of construction work sites. Students who complete this qualification may secure employment as a builder’s labourer. Learn through “hands-on” training to gain industry skills to help you pursue a career in the Construction Industry, including Carpentry, Painting & Decorating, Bricklaying & Paving.

Eligibility Requirements

Units you will be studying will be outlined before you start this course. We will discuss these in our information sessions for pre-apprenticeships. You will need to be able to write legibly. students are expected to: •Read and interpret Occupational Health and Safety guidelines (eg Safe use of equipment and chemicals) •Deal with basic maths (eg add, subtract & multiply) •Read and understand material (eg instructions for use, plans etc) Support is available to help students who may have difficulty meeting the above requirements. Some of these skills may be improved through the learning processes.
