If you’re already working in the automotive industry, either at a probationary or work experience level, our Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation is the course for you. Designed as a transition from school to employment, in this course you’ll learn the basics of motor mechanics including maintenance and service procedures, workplace safety and electrical fundamentals.
The qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a limited range of tasks related to familiarisation and inspection of mechanical and electrical components and systems of cars, heavy vehicles, outdoor power equipment, bicycles, marine craft and motorcycles. It also covers the skills and knowledge required to perform minor maintenance and repair of an automotive vehicle body. The range of technical skills and knowledge is limited.

To enrol students should be 15 years of age at the commencement of the course.
Students must be in Year 10, 11 or 12.
Admission may be on the basis of maturity and other relevant work experience.
