Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation (Mechanical Stream)

Pre-apprenticeship Description

This course provides the knowledge and skills enabling graduates to perform routine servicing of cooling systems, diesel or petrol fuel injection systems, exhaust, braking systems, final drive assemblies, steering and suspension systems and transmissions specialising in light vehicles or heavy vehicles and/or motorcycles.

Eligibility Requirements

Automotive students are expected to: a)follow Occupational Health & Safety practices b)read and understand theory materials c)answer short answer questions d)deal easily with maths (eg basic timetables, conversions, volumes, transpositions of formula, use of calculators) e)answer computer testing Support is available to help students who may have difficulty meeting the above requirements. Some of these skills may be improved through the learning process.
