Pre-apprenticeship Description

Begin your career working with animals with this entry-level qualification. This course will give you the foundation skills needed to care for animals in a variety of different settings. It's the perfect starting point for a number of streams of animal care including grooming, working in animal shelters or kennels, and veterinary nursing. This course will give you the practical skills and knowledge to complete animal hygiene routines, monitor animal health and wellbeing, and assist with surgery preparations. Our passionate team of industry professionals are the best in the business and will give you the one-on-one guidance needed to succeed in your studies. Successful completion of this course will qualify you to work as an assistant dog groomer, kennel or animal shelter attendant, or a trainee vet nurse. It will also give you the knowledge required to complete further studies in the field.

Eligibility Requirements

Students should contact their School Careers Officer. Students must be in Year 11. Sound levels of computer and literacy skills.
