Professional Athletes work at a regional, state or territory level which may enable match-payments, prize money, grants or endorsements to form the primary source of their income.
Work functions include training for events, assessing competitors and conditions at venues, consulting with coaches to determine appropriate strategies, competing and undertaking promotional duties.
Note - those undertaking this qualification should hold a scholarship with an Institute of Sport, be a member of a state, territory or national team, squad or development program; a state, territory or national talent development program or a member of a second tier national competition.
Note: Specialist streams are available for Rugby League, Equestrian, Golf, Netball, Canoeing, and Cricket.
