Mill Supervisor (Flour)

Employees work in a technical leadership role in the flour milling industry above the shift miller level.  They supervise across departments and either set or participate in setting production and key performance indicators for the flour mill. (Please note that this covers flour milling operations for all types of grain including wheat, oats, barley, corn, rice, sorghum, millet, rye, and non-grain flours such as peas and arrowroot.)

  • Establish and supervise dust control procedures in a grain processing enterprise

  • Implement and monitor environmentally sustainable work practices

  • Apply digital technology in food processing
  • Document processes and procedures for a food product
  • Establish operational requirements for a food processing enterprise
  • Apply water management principles to the food industry
  • Operate interrelated processes in a production system
  • Manage people in the work area

  • Manage a work area within budget
  • Determine handling processes for perishable food items

  • Implement grain monitoring measures
