Your role as a Demolisher is to carry out general demolition (manual and mechanical) related work. You may also specialise in removal of contaminants, and the operation of loaders and crushers/pulverisers.

  • Work safely at heights
  • Identify hazards on demolition sites and apply risk management strategies
  • Select and use hand tools and equipment for demolition tasks
  • Select and use small plant and equipment for demolition tasks
  • Demolish small buildings and structures using hand tools and small plant and equipment
  • Select and use tools and equipment for hot work in the demolition industry
  • Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
  • Carry out measurements and calculations
  • Use explosive power tools
  • Operate excavators at ground level to demolish building elements
  • Licence to perform dogging
  • Safely handle and use scaffolding tools and equipment
  • Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level
  • Remove non-friable asbestos
  • Control traffic with a stop-slow bat
  • Cut and bend materials using oxy-LPG equipment
  • Operate personnel and materials hoists
