Outboard Engine Marine Technician

Working as an Outboard Engine Marine Technician you would adjust and repair electrical and mechanical systems of outboard motors. You would install petrol and diesel engines and may also repair steering and throttle controls.

  • Inspect, test and service batteries
  • Inspect, service and repair electronic management, monitoring and tracking systems
  • Diagnose and repair instruments and warning systems
  • Diagnose and repair ignition systems
  • Licence to operate a forklift truck   
  • Diagnose and repair marine steering systems
  • Overhaul two and four-stroke cycle marine outboard engines
  • Diagnose and repair marine outboard engines
  • Diagnose and repair petrol and diesel marine fuel systems 
  • Inspect and service marine outboard and stern drive transmissions
  • Drive and manoeuvre trailers
  • Develop and carry out diagnostic test strategies 
  • Diagnose complex system faults
  • Use and maintain measuring equipment in an automotive workplace
  • Interpret technical drawing
