This quarter at AATIS: January – March 2021

The Australian Apprenticeships and Traineeships Information Service (AATIS) has had a very strong start to 2021, with data from the first quarter (January – March 2021) highlighting a growth in engagement from key VET industry stakeholders, employers and individuals undertaking or considering an Australian Apprenticeship.

The quarterly data reflects the school holidays in January as a quieter period for Apprenticeship Information seeking, with a growth in activity from February. This growth in activity indicates engagement from industry Insiders, Job Seekers and Employers.

The announcement of an extension to Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements fuelled trends in employment activity, which can be seen across the employer web pages on AAPathways, and in enquiry service trends.

“It has been an incredibly busy month for the team at AATIS, with states across the nation finding their covid-normal,” Dr Peta Skujins, AATIS Director, said.

“AATIS supports the extension of the Boosting Apprenticeships Commencements and we’re absolutely thrilled to be able to support job seekers and employers navigate what this meant for them through our enquiry line and social media channels.”

This quarter also saw AATIS launch their Partners Program, an initiative to help Industry Insiders connect with AATIS and the wider apprenticeships community and utilise and gain priority access to AATIS resources and services.

“More than 70 organisations have signed up to the AATIS Partner Program, we have been able to plan our first webinar utilising the engagement from the program and we have scheduled several MyGain filming opportunities with thanks to the program,” Peta said.

“It’s important to note that whilst the program is new to AATIS, we have been working closely with stakeholders over many years and the Partners Program simply formalises that relationship.”

AATIS has also worked this quarter to maintain up-to-date information across their platforms, with over 200 new Job and Training Descriptions to meet new qualification releases and updating the AATIS database with more than 250 qualification updates.

“This information is a key resource for our stakeholders across the country and a core component of the work we do at AATIS,” Peta said.

“We work hard daily to ensure they are in line with state and territory approvals and new qualifications and training package information.”

The team at AATIS would like to thank all stakeholders, organisations, and users for their contributions over the last quarter.
