AAPathways takes out top spot at 24th Annual Communicator Awards

Australian Apprenticeship Pathways (AAPathways) has been named a winner in three separate categories at the 24th Annual Communicator Awards.

Founded by passionate communications professionals over two decades ago, The Communicator Awards is an annual competition honouring the best digital, mobile, audio, video, and social content the industry has to offer.

The AAPathways website, which is provided by Australian Apprenticeships and Traineeships Information Service (AATIS), has received the Award for Excellence in the category of User Experience, as well as two Awards for Distinction in the categories of User Interface and Educational Websites.

Director of AATIS, Peta Skujins, says receiving the awards is an honour, but also a reflection of the hard work being done by the team at AATIS.

“It is fantastic to receive these awards, and a huge honour,” Ms Skujins explains.

“There has been a lot of hard work go into the redevelopment of the website, so to get recognition for that hard work is also a great feeling.”

The Communicator Awards are overseen and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), an organization made up of over 600 visual arts and communications professionals.

The 24th Annual Communicator Awards received entries from top ad agencies, interactive agencies, production firms, In-house creative professionals, graphic designers, design firms, and public relations firms around the world.

New website turning heads

AATIS worked with Melbourne-based digital agency Get Started to completely redevelop and redesign the AAPathways website in late 2017.

Since the redesign of the website, AAPathways has also been recognised at the 2018 Annual Webby Awards.

Since 1996, The Webby Awards have been the leading international award, honouring excellence on the internet. 

Others that were recognised by The Webby Awards include TED-Ed and IBM, placing AAPathways in some esteemed company.

Ms Skujins explains that the redesigned website is not only easier on the eyes, but also has new and improved functionality.

“The website looks great, but more importantly the user experience is of a really high standard now,” she says.

“We are so excited about what else we can achieve with the newly designed website.”
