Queensland Government and TAFE Queensland announce a fully funded 40 week program for apprentice chefs

The Intensive Commercial Cookery Apprenticeship Program is an opportunity for apprentices to acheive a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (SIT30816), and will commence later this year.

Training will combine periods of work placement with an intensive skills program, all while giving students the chance to bolster their network of employers and professionals.

In a bid to encourage applicants, the Queensland Government has committed to funding the entire training program, including the cost of equipment and uniform requirements.

NSW Government and TAFE NSW commit to training and skilling young people in Snowy 2.0

The NSW Government and TAFE NSW have made a commitment to train young people to work on the next phase of Australia's largest renewable energy project.

Snowy 2.0 is the second phase of the Snowy Hydro project, which aims to link two existing dams through 27km of tunnels and build a new underground power station.

Young people will receive support to enroll in pre-vocational courses, school-based apprenticeships, diploma-level courses and micro-skill short courses, as part of the partnership.

Hundreds of industry experts are being incentivised to upskill and become teachers at TAFE, as part of a new Victorian Government initiative.

The TAFE Teacher Training Scholarship provides up to 200 study assistance scholarships valued at $10,000 each to enhance the TAFE teaching workforce amid growing student enrolments.

The program is a unique opportunity for skilled workers seeking a career change or for those affected by the coronavirus pandemic to pass on their industry-relevant skills to TAFE students.
