Qualifications Summary

UET20312 - Certificate II in ESI - Powerline Vegetation Control

This qualification provides competencies for the operational role of planning and carrying out vegetation control at and above ground level near live electrical apparatus.

UET20412 - Certificate II in ESI - Transmission Structure and Line Assembly

Those gaining this qualification will be able to assemble ESI transmission towers and structures and string transmission overhead conductors prior to them being tensioned.

UET20511 - Certificate II in National Broadband Network Cabling Installation and Maintenance

Employees install and maintain national broadband network (NBN) communications cabling infrastructure under close supervision and to prescribed routines.

UET20612 - Certificate II in ESI - Asset Inspection

Those gaining this qualification will be able to safely comply with relevant State or Territory regulatory requirements while inspecting and treating poles and inspecting live electrical apparatus.

UET30512 - Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Transmission Overhead

This qualification covers transmission overhead powerline work such as erection of towers, poles, structures and associated hardware, including the installation and maintenance of conductors and cables, and inspection procedures for overhead structures and electrical apparatus.

UET30612 - Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Overhead

This training covers distribution overhead powerline industry work such as installation, maintenance and inspection of poles, structures and associated hardware used on poles and structures.  It also covers the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment, conductors and cables used in the powerline industry.

UET30712 - Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Rail Traction

This qualification covers the installation, maintenance and inspection of overhead poles/structures, conductors and cables and rail traction wiring systems including associated equipment used on these structures; the installation and maintenance of the overhead traction configuration and the installation and maintenance of bonds; as well as the operation of the rail traction height access equipment.

UET30812 - Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Cable Jointing

This training covers cable jointing work such as the laying, installation and maintenance of de-energised Low Voltage and High Voltage underground polymeric cables and the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment. 

UET30912 - Certificate III in ESI - Remote Community Utilities Worker

This qualification covers the skills and knowledge needed for inspecting and maintaining essential public utilities (excludes mine sites) within Very Remote Communities. All work on essential electrical utilities is to be undertaken in a non-energised (Dead) environment other than for testing purposes.

UET40412 - Certificate IV in ESI - Network Systems

This qualification covers Live Line Transmission, Live Line Distribution, Live Line Rail Traction and/or installation and maintenance of Specialised Underground Cables.

UET40512 - Certificate IV in ESI - Power Systems Substations

This qualification provides competencies to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment in buildings and premises. It includes ERAC requirements for an ‘Electrician’s licence’. It also provides a career in installation and maintenance of substations such as the maintenance of HV power systems, including circuit breakers and transformers.

UET40612 - Certificate IV in ESI - Power Systems Network Infrastructure

This qualification provides competencies to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment in building and premises. It includes ERAC requirements for an ‘Electrician’s licence’.

UET50212 - Diploma of ESI - Power Systems

This qualification is appropriate for a career in design, testing and/or systems' operations.

UET50312 - Diploma of ESI - Power Systems Operations

This qualification is suitable for those seeking a career in systems' operations.

UET60212 - Advanced Diploma of ESI - Power Systems

Those gaining this qualification will be able to acquire additional skills and knowledge needed for a career in design, testing and/or systems' operations.

UET60312 - Advanced Diploma of ESI - Power Systems Operations

This qualification is suitable for those seeking a career in systems' operation.
