These qualifications apply to border protection & customs, courts, government, human resources and workplace relations, security and personnel security, service delivery, statutory compliance and trade measurement areas of work.

‘Public Safety’ and ‘Local Government’ are associated industries.

Use the My Skills site to search for Registered Training Organisations registered to deliver courses. Each State and Territory separately approves Registered Training Organisations to deliver apprenticeships and traineeships in their jurisdiction.

 

Qualifications Summary

PSP20116 - Certificate II in Government

This is a generalist qualification covering competencies that lay a foundation for a career in the public sector. It has a particular focus on competencies required in a public service context, but also includes competencies that are transferable to other work contexts.

PSP30116 - Certificate III in Government

This qualification allows for the attainment of general competencies for those working in entry level roles in the public sector, with a particular focus on meeting the ethical and legislative requirements of the public service.

It also provdes for court services, border protection and personnel vetting specialisations.

PSP40116 - Certificate IV in Government

This qualification covers both generalist and specific occupations.
The generalist qualification is suited to those working in an environment requiring multi-skilled personnel and/or small or regionally based organisations.

There are human resources management, service delivery, land administration, injury claims administration, injury rehabilitation management, border protection and revenue administration specialisations.

PSP40216 - Certificate IV in Court Operations (Compliance/Services)

This qualification allows for the attainment of general competencies for those working in operational roles in a court environment, with a particular focus on meeting the ethical and legislative requirements of the court services. The services specialisation covers the skills required by those responsible for providing services to the court.

PSP40316 - Certificate IV in Government Security (Personnel vetting/Fraud control)

This qualification is for those working in operational roles undertaking government security related functions, with a particular focus on meeting the ethical and legislative requirements of the public service. It has both generalist and specialisations in personnel vetting and fraud control.

PSP40416 - Certificate IV in Government Investigations (Regulatory compliance)

This qualification is for those working in operational roles undertaking government investigation related functions with the generalist qualification covering the broad range of skills required to operate without supervision in a government investigations environment. There is also regulatory compliance specialisation covering the skills required by those responsible for ensuring statutory compliance with the requirements of legislation, regulations and organisational policy.

PSP40616 - Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting

A suitable qualification for those who procure goods and services. 

PSP40716 - Certificate IV in Heavy Vehicle Road Compliance

This qualification is for those working in operational roles undertaking heavy vehicle road compliance inspections. 

PSP41512 - Certificate IV in Government (Investigation)

Appropriate for those responsible for statutory investigation under a range of legislation, regulations, mandated government and organisational policy and instructions.

PSP50116 - Diploma of Government

This qualification allows for the attainment of competencies required for independent and self-directed work in the public sector. There may be supervisory responsibilities. The generalist qualification is suited to those working in an environment where there are a range of responsibilities.

There are specialisations in injury management, workplace inspection and policy development.

PSP50416 - Diploma of Government Investigations

This qualification applies to people responsible for the coordination and conduct of investigations.

PSP50616 - Diploma of Procurement and Contracting

This qualification covers independent and self-directed work as a procurement and contract manager in the public sector.

PSP50716 - Diploma of Fraud Control

This qualification applies to people person responsible for the coordination and conduct of fraud control prevention and detection. 

PSP51712 - Diploma in Government (Investigation)

Suitable training for persons responsible for the coordination and conduct of investigations.

PSP60116 - Advanced Diploma of Government

The generalist qualification suits the requirements of working in small or regionally based organisations or where responsibilities are diverse in nature, rather than with a narrow specialisation.

There are workplace inspection, investigations and fraud control specialisations.

PSP60616 - Advanced Diploma of Procurement and Contracting

This qualification is suitable for personnel responsible for the management of strategic procurement in public sector organisations.
