The Printing and Graphic Arts Package ICP (release 2) includes eight qualifications and four skill sets.

Qualifications Summary

ICP20115 - Certificate II in Printing and Graphic Arts (General)

This qualification applies to individuals who perform a range of mainly routine tasks in the printing and graphic arts industry. They work under direct supervision, and use limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context. It covers 11 work function areas.

ICP30215 - Certificate III in Printing and Graphic Arts (Graphic Prepress)

This qualification applies to individuals working as a pre-press tradesperson. Typically they design and prepare layouts and artwork, manipulate images and text to meet production and design requirements and apply solutions to a defined range of problems associated with, and characteristic to, the print medium.

ICP31115 - Certificate III in Printing and Graphic Arts (Ink Manufacture)

This qualification applies to skilled ink mixer operators who undertake appropriate testing procedures for each stage of product manufacture and evaluate and implement improvements.

ICP31215 - Certificate III in Printing

This qualification applies to individuals working as print machinists who set up and operate letterpress, lithographic, flexographic, gravure printing presses, digital printers or screen printers and work on a range of printed products. 

ICP31315 - Certificate III in Print Manufacturing

Appropriate for individuals working in the print manufacturing area creating printed products by hand or machine. They are responsible for post-press and finishing stages of the print process.

ICP31415 - Certificate III in Print Communications

his qualification applies to individuals working as a pre-media tradesperson. Thye they design and prepare layouts and artwork, manipulate images and text to meet production and design requirements and apply solutions to a defined range of problems associated with, and characteristic to, the print medium. 

ICP40115 - Certificate IV in Printing and Graphic Arts

This general qualification applies to individuals working in the printing and graphic arts industry. They apply solutions to a defined range of problems and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

ICP40515 - Certificate IV in Printing and Graphic Arts (Mail House)

Suitable training for those engaged in production coordination, scheduling and supervising in the mail house sector.

ICP40815 - Certificate IV in ePublishing

This qualification covers people working with digital content for publication across one or more platforms. They have broad technical and theoretical knowledge of digital publication processes and need to analyse, compare and act on information from a range of sources to complete specialised tasks.

ICP50115 - Diploma of Printing and Graphic Arts

This qualification applies to individuals who possess a sound theoretical knowledge in the Printing and Graphic arts industry and are responsible for production workflow. They analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources and are involved in planning, scheduling and the supervision of labour, machines, and materials for production. They provide leadership and guidance to others with responsibility for the output of others.
