Qualifications Summary

FBP20121 - Certificate II in Food Processing

This qualification describes the skills and knowledge required for those who work in operational roles, under supervision, in a food processing environment. At this level, workers have the technical skills to use a limited range of machinery and/or equipment to process food and carry out routine tasks guided by established procedures.

FBP20122 - Certificate II in Food Processing

This qualification describes the skills and knowledge required for those who work in operational roles, under supervision, in a food processing environment. At this level, workers have the technical skills to use a limited range of machinery and/or equipment to process food and carry out routine tasks guided by established procedures.

FBP20221 - Certificate II in Baking

This qualification describes the skills and knowledge of a baker’s assistant working in a commercial baking environment. All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, in accordance with State/Territory food safety, and work health and safety, regulations and legislation that apply to the workplace.

FBP20418 - Certificate II in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

This qualification describes the skills and knowledge for support roles within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. Roles covered include equipment and facility cleaners, production machinery operators and packing line workers that work under routine supervision where the work is predictable and structured with limited judgement requirements.

FBP20521 - Certificate II in Wine Industry Operations

This qualification describes the skills and knowledge required for entry level workers in the wine industry. These workers carry out routine work under supervision, in a range of sectors, including: process tasks in bottling and packaging, cellar operations and laboratory testing, customer service tasks in cellar door, tasks related to viticulture, harvesting and post-harvesting.

FBP30121 - Certificate III in Food Processing

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as operators in a food processing environment who have responsibility for overseeing all or part of a processing plant and related equipment. They are required to work autonomously, use judgement, interpret information, and apply solutions to routine and some non-routine problems. They may also take some responsibility for the output of others.

FBP30217 - Certificate III in Plant Baking

This qualification describes the skills and knowledge for workers in a production bakery, where large scale production and packaging of bread and other baked products is undertaken.

FBP30321 - Certificate III in Cake and Pastry

This qualification describes the skills and knowledge of a pastry cook who bakes cake, pastry and biscuit products working in a commercial baking environment. All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, in accordance with State/Territory food safety, and work health and safety, regulations and legislation that apply to the workplace.

FBP30421 - Certificate III in Bread Baking

This qualification describes the skills and knowledge of a bread baker who bakes bread products working in a commercial baking environment. All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, in accordance with State/Territory food safety, and work health and safety, regulations and legislation that apply to the workplace.

FBP30521 - Certificate III in Baking

This qualification describes the skills and knowledge of a baker who bakes bread, cake, pastry and biscuit products working in a commercial baking environment. All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, in accordance with State/Territory food safety, and work health and safety, regulations and legislation that apply to the workplace.

FBP30822 - Certificate III in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

This qualification describes the skills and knowledge for production and packaging roles carried out under broad supervision within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. Individuals with this qualification perform tasks involving a broad range of skills that are applied in a wide variety of contexts, which will involve discretion and judgement in selecting and operating equipment, coordinating resources and applying contingency measures during work.

FBP30921 - Certificate III in Wine Industry Operations

This qualification describes the skills and knowledge required for operational workers in the wine industry. These workers carry out skilled tasks under broad direction in a range of sectors, including: procedural and technical tasks in bottling and packaging, cellar operations and laboratory testing, customer service tasks in cellar door, tasks related to wine grape growing, harvesting and post-harvesting.

FBP31121 - Certificate III in High Volume Baking

This qualification describes the skills and knowledge for workers in a production bakery, where high volume production of bread, pastry products, biscuits and/or cakes is undertaken. The qualification is designed for production related roles that require application of specific high volume baking skills and knowledge across a range of processes and including some technical and problem solving ability.

FBP40321 - Certificate IV in Food Processing

This qualification reflects the role of workers who work in supervisory or middle management roles within food processing environments. Workers contribute specialist technical skills and knowledge to solve food production problems and supervise the work of others. Emphasis is on monitoring the implementation and quality control of food processing systems and procedures for optimal performance.

FBP40421 - Certificate IV in Food Science and Technology

This qualification targets those working in technical and supervisory roles covering product development, food safety and quality, food production and distribution, environmental functions, and the maintenance and monitoring of food processing systems. The job roles require specialist technical skills and knowledge in food science and technology to complete routine and non-routine tasks and functions, and workers have responsibility for their own functions and outputs, along with limited responsibility for the output of others.

FBP40522 - Certificate IV in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

This qualification reflects the skills and knowledge for team leaders, supervisors and specialist technical roles within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. The qualification includes technical skills, problem solving and supervisory skills to operate, monitor and improve the performance of pharmaceutical manufacturing systems, processes and team members.

FBP40621 - Certificate IV in Artisan Fermented Products

This qualification reflects the role of those using artisanal methods to produce fermented food and/or beverage products, such as beer, spirits, miso, table olives and fermented meat products. In this role, makers analyse materials and products, exercising judgement to guide the fermentation process and the work of others.
