Qualifications Summary

FNS20120 - Certificate II in Financial Services

This qualification is intended to address the need for increased financial literacy and basic financial skills of entrants wishing to build potential pathways into the industry.

FNS30122 - Certificate III in Financial Services

This qualification reflects the role of entry level employees working across the entire financial services industry who perform duties relating to administrative, clerical and customer service roles in banking, credit management, insurance and retail financial services.

FNS30322 - Certificate III in Accounts Administration

This qualification reflects the role of individuals with functions that could include financial data entry, processing accounts and payrolls, providing customer service in financial transactions, and producing financial reports.

FNS30420 - Certificate III in Mercantile Agents

This qualification is designed for individuals in job roles in the mercantile agents sector who apply a broad range of competencies. This includes using limited discretion and judgement while undertaking operations that may include debt collection, process serving and repossessions. Individuals at this level apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and judgement and take limited responsibility in known situations under general supervision.

FNS40122 - Certificate IV in Credit Management

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in credit management functions. Individuals in these roles apply theoretical and technical skills and knowledge to work autonomously and exercise judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities relating to credit, reconciliation and customer service.

FNS40222 - Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the accounting and bookkeeping industry, including business activity statement (BAS) agents and contract bookkeepers; and of those employees performing bookkeeping tasks for organisations in a range of industries. It includes preparing and lodging business and instalment activity statements, data processing, monthly reconciliations, preparing budgets, preparing reports on financial performance and the position of the business, preparing end-of-year adjustments, and finalising financial records after year-end. Dealing with the Commissioner of Taxation on behalf of a taxpayer in relation to activity statements and other lodgement matters is also a key component of the role that this qualification reflects.

FNS40821 - Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in finance and mortgage broking. Individuals in these roles apply theoretical and technical knowledge and skills to work autonomously and exercise judgement in completing routine activities relating to mortgage and finance broking.

FNS40920 - Certificate IV in Superannuation

This qualification reflects administration and customer service job roles in the superannuation industry. Individuals in these roles apply specialist skills and knowledge to work autonomously and exercise judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities, including administering income streams, assisting with meeting industry compliance requirements, establishing and maintaining employer accounts and processing benefits, claims and payments.

FNS41422 - Certificate IV in General Insurance

This qualification reflects the role of those who work in general insurance in a range of organisations. Individuals in these roles apply specialist skills and knowledge to work autonomously and as part of a team. They exercise judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities relating to claims handling, determining risk exposure, dispute resolution, providing customer service and underwriting.

FNS41521 - Certificate IV in Life Insurance

This qualification reflects the role of entry level life insurance consultants, who work in a range of practice environments. Individuals in these roles often work in teams and apply specialist knowledge and skills to work autonomously and exercise judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities relating to customer service and processing life insurance policies and claims. They apply solutions to a defined range of life insurance problems and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

FNS41715 - Certificate IV in Insurance Broking

This qualification is for insurance brokers who provide advice and services to clients. They may also have a role in providing specialist advice, and supervision or training to others in the brokerage.

FNS41720 - Certificate IV in Insurance Broking

This qualification reflects the role of insurance brokers who provide advice on retail products and services to retail insurance clients. They may also have a role in providing specialist advice and managerial activities. Individuals in these roles apply specialist skills and knowledge to work autonomously and exercise judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities and to analyse and evaluate information from a variety of relevant sources.

FNS41820 - Certificate IV in Financial Services

This qualification is designed to provide a flexible general purpose pathway in the financial services industry. It is intended for individuals with job roles that involve working across a range of duties in the financial services sector where a specialist qualification is not the most suitable qualification.

FNS42022 - Certificate IV in Banking Services

This qualification reflects the role of individuals requiring specialist understanding of financial products and services working in banking, customer contact centre or retail financial services environments. Individuals in these roles apply specialist skills and knowledge to work autonomously and exercise judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities.

FNS42222 - Certificate IV in Personal Trust Administration

This qualification reflects the roles of individuals working in varied contexts within personal trust administration. Individuals in these roles apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They work autonomously, may provide guidance to others and have limited responsibility for the output of others.

FNS50217 - Diploma of Accounting

This qualification reflects accounting job roles in financial services and other industries, including tax agents, accounts payable and accounts receivable officers, payroll service providers, and employees performing a range of accounting tasks for organisations in a range of industries. FNS50922 - Diploma of Banking Services Management

This qualification reflects a range of roles with team and business result responsibilities in customer contact centres or retail and/or commercial financial services environments within banking or other deposit-taking institutions. Individuals in these roles have autonomy in performing technical operations; apply solutions to a range of often complex problems; and research, analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

FNS51022 - Diploma of Financial Markets

This qualification reflects roles in financial markets involving duties in the areas of client advising, operations and trading. Individuals in these roles have autonomy in performing technical operations; apply solutions to a range of often complex problems; and research, analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

FNS51120 - Diploma of General Insurance

This qualification reflects a range of job roles with team and management responsibilities in general insurance industry environments. Individuals in these roles have autonomy in performing technical operations and management.

FNS51220 - Diploma of Insurance Broking

This qualification reflects the role of insurance brokers working in a range of organisations, including professional insurance broking advisers. Individuals performing this role assist individuals and businesses to identify their risks, and recommend how these risks can be managed using insurance and other risk management strategies.

FNS51420 - Diploma of Loss Adjusting

This qualification is for loss adjusters who provide standard loss adjusting services in a range of insurance organisations. Individuals in these roles have autonomy in performing technical operations, apply solutions to a range of often complex problems, and research, analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They apply initiative to plan, coordinate and evaluate their own work and provide guidance to others.

FNS51522 - Diploma of Credit Management

This qualification reflects roles in a range of financial services and other industry enterprises requiring well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base of the credit-management sector. Individuals in these roles have autonomy in performing technical operations, apply solutions to a range of often complex problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

FNS51822 - Diploma of Financial Services

This qualification provides a general purpose pathway into the financial services industry. It also provides an effective development option for those for whom the specialist qualification pathways in FNS Financial Services Training Package are not yet appropriate. Individuals in these roles apply solutions to a range of often complex problems and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

FNS52022 - Diploma of Personal Trusts

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in organisations offering personal trustee services. At this level individuals are expected to apply theoretical and specialised skills in a range of situations and to display initiative and judgement in completing activities.

FNS60222 - Advanced Diploma of Accounting

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in accounting and seeking professional recognition, including tax agents, accounts managers and business analysts; and to employees performing a range of accounts management tasks for organisations in a range of industries. At this level individuals are expected to apply theoretical and technical skills in a range of situations and to display initiative and judgement in planning activities.

FNS60622 - Advanced Diploma of Banking Services Management

This qualification reflects senior management and service roles with team and business result responsibilities in banking or other deposit taking institutions, customer contact centres or retail financial services environments. At this level individuals are expected to apply specialist skills and knowledge in a range of situations to deal with complex situations and issues. They work across a broad range of technical or management functions with accountability for personal outputs and for team outcomes.
