Qualifications Summary

UEP20118 - Certificate II in ESI Generation - Operations Support

Participants gaining this qualification will be able to perform operations support functions in the electrical supply industry. Functions may include the operation of non-critical generation plant systems, lubricating generation plant and performing minor maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment. It may also include cleaning power generation plant, operating mobile load shifting equipment and observing safe working practices in the workplace.

UEP20218 - Certificate II in Remote Area Essential Service

Participants gaining this qualification will be able to perform operations in remote area essential services in the electrical supply industry. Functions may include selecting, assembling, setting up and maintaining simple equipment and systems following prescribed workplace procedures and routines, including observing safe working practices.

UEP30118 - Certificate III in ESI Generation - Systems Operations

Participants gaining this qualification will be able to perform systems operations functions in the electrical supply industry. Functions may include the operation of power generation plant systems, isolating power generation plant systems for work and undertaking routine maintenance on power generation plant and equipment. It may also include working with civil plant and infrastructure and observing safe working practices.

UEP30218 - Certificate III in ESI Generation - Operations

Participants gaining this qualification will be able to perform operations functions in the electrical supply industry. Functions may include the operation of power generation plant systems, isolating power generation plant systems for work and routine maintenance on power generation plant and equipment. It may also include working with civil plant and infrastructure and observing safe working practices.

UEP40118 - Certificate IV in ESI Generation - Systems Operations

Participants gaining this qualification will be able to perform systems operations functions in the electrical supply industry. Functions may include the remote operation of network equipment, the isolating of power generation plant and equipment for work, estimating costs and observing safe working practices. It may also include the supervision of others and the coordination of work activities.

UEP40218 - Certificate IV in ESI Generation - Operations

Participants gaining this qualification will be able to perform operations functions in the electrical supply industry. Functions may include the remote operation of network equipment, the isolating of power generation plant and equipment for work, estimating costs and observing safe working practices. It may also include the supervision of others and the coordination of work activities.

UEP40318 - Certificate IV in ESI Generation Maintenance - Electrical Electronics

Participants gaining this qualification will be able to manufacture, fit, assemble, erect, operate, test, find and diagnose faults and alter and repair electrical and electronic equipment including instrumentation systems. It does not include installation of any electrical wiring systems within an electrical installation as prescribed in current industry standards.

UEP40418 - Certificate IV in ESI Generation Maintenance (Fabrication)

Participants gaining this qualification will be able to complete power generation work functions in the electrical supply industry. Functions can include installation, fabrication, repair and maintenance of industrial pressure vessels and associated pipe work, coded welding, welding supervision, general fabrication and the observation of safe working practices. It also includes the supervision of others and the coordination of work activities.

UEP40518 - Certificate IV in ESI Generation Maintenance (Mechanical)

Participants gaining this qualification will be able to complete power generation work functions in the electrical supply industry. Functions can include the installation, repair, maintenance of plant and mechanical systems, maintenance planning and scheduling. It also includes observation of safe working practices, supervision of others and the coordination of work activities.

UEP40618 - Certificate IV in Large Scale Wind Generation - Electrical

Participants gaining this qualification will be able to operate, test, find and diagnose faults and alter and repair electrical equipment and systems associated with large scale wind power generation. It may also include the supervision of others and the coordination of work activities.

UEP50118 - Diploma of ESI Generation - Systems Operations

Participants gaining this qualification will be able to perform systems operations functions in the electrical supply industry. Functions may include the remote operation of network systems, the isolating of power generation plant systems for work, the development of operational procedures and systems, the start-up and shut down of boilers and turbines, the oversight of hydro plant and gas turbines and the implementation of safe working practices. It may also include the management of others and the coordination of work activities.

UEP50218 - Diploma of ESI Generation - Operations

Participants gaining this qualification will be able to perform operations functions in the electrical supply industry. Functions may include the remote operation of network systems, the isolating of power generation plant systems for work, the development of operational procedures and systems, the start-up and shut down of boilers and turbines, the oversight of hydro plant and gas turbines and the implementation of safe working practices. It may also include the management of others and the coordination of work activities.
