Qualifications Summary

ACM20110 - Certificate II in Animal Studies

This qualification is a general pre-vocational qualification aimed for inclusion in a VET in Schools program or as an entry point into the animal care and management industry.

ACM30110 - Certificate III in Animal Studies

This general qualification is suitable for assistants undertaking animal care functions in an animal care workplace.

ACM30210 - Certificate III in Animal Technology

Suitable for junior or assistant level animal technology functions within a biomedical research or production environment.

ACM30310 - Certificate III in Captive Animals

Appropriate qualification for people operating at pre-trade level and undertaking animal care functions in a captive animal facility or institution.

ACM30410 - Certificate III in Companion Animal Services

Suitable for people operating within a companion animal organisation, for example, in a pet shop/aquarium, kennel, cattery, grooming, pet training or exercise organisation.

ACM30510 - Certificate III in Farriery

This qualification provides a trade outcome in farriery. It relates to the work activities undertaken by a farrier who is engaged or employed to provide foot care services to horses.

ACM30612 - Certificate III in Pet Grooming

Suitable training for pet grooming attendants undertaking salon reception and housekeeping duties as well as bathing, brushing, trimming and other basic grooming services for domestic pets, usually dogs and in some cases cats.

ACM40110 - Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation

Appropriate for people undertaking animal control and regulatory functions. Animal control and regulation (also known as urban animal management) is a function provided by local and state/territory governments. It provides a community management service comprising four elements - regulation, education, information and infrastructure.

ACM40210 - Certificate IV in Captive Animals

A general industry qualification for people operating at a senior keeper level and undertaking animal care functions within zoo, wildlife or theme park environments.

ACM40310 - Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services

This qualification is for people operating within a companion animal organisation.

ACM40412 - Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

This qualification is the industry standard for people working as veterinary nurses within veterinary clinics.

ACM40512 - Certificate IV in Equine Dentistry

Training covers work undertaken by an equine dental service provider who provides day-to-day dental care and routine dental correction and oral care for horses.

ACM40612 - Certificate IV in Pet Styling

Appropriate training for those working for pet stylist services. They apply the styling standards for different breeds, understand small animal anatomy, and are able to identify pet hygiene issues that may indicate a health concern.

ACM50110 - Diploma of Animal Technology

This qualification is for persons aiming to operate at a senior or managerial level who undertake animal technology functions within a biomedical research or production environment.

ACM50212 - Diploma of Veterinary Nursing (Surgical)

This qualification is the industry standard for veterinary nurses who provide specialised surgical nursing support for registered specialist veterinarians performing specialised surgical procedures within veterinary clinics or hospitals.

ACM50312 - Diploma of Veterinary Nursing (Dental)

This qualification is the industry standard for veterinary nurses who provide specialised and advanced veterinary dental nursing support within a clinic or hospital that performs advanced veterinary dentistry, or a specialist or referral veterinary dental clinic or hospital.

ACM50412 - Diploma of Veterinary Nursing (Emergency and Critical Care)

This qualification is the industry standard for veterinary nurses who provide support for an extensive range of emergency and critical care procedures within a veterinary hospital or emergency/specialist veterinary clinic.

ACM50512 - Diploma of Veterinary Nursing (General Practice)

This qualification is the industry standard for veterinary nurses who provide a leadership role and apply advanced skills and knowledge in patient assessment, care and management within a veterinary workplace.
